The Pilgrim Adventures guys do it again. If you haven't played any of the Space Pilgrim games, first of all do it now. But if you already did, then you will know how good the character writing is. As usual, it's not some kind of high-concept epic, it's just a solid, well-paced space opera that celebrates all the stuff sci-fi fans pop for: spaceships, aliens, AI, coffee, synthesizer music - it's all there. The characters feel real, the dialog is (mostly) believable and it's just a fun place to escape to for a few hours. My sole complaint is that at one point the game appears to set you up to lose a different buddy depending on fairly arbitrary choices made beforehand. To me this makes the loss less impactful. Personally i prefer the Space Pilgrim approach where there's only one path so the writers get to make any deaths really mean something. When you have multiple paths it makes the deaths feel cheap, like they're only there to check a box instead of tell a compelling story. On the flip side, although the final decision also gives you multiple options, I never felt the need to go back and choose any of the other ones. I was invested enough in the world and my motivations that there could only be one choice for me, which I think is good writing. In short, if you're into sci-fi and want to spend a few hours with a rag-tag crew uncovering the mysteries of an alien world, this game is just the ticket.. Obviously a really basic RPG engine with modest but decent art and music. The story and atmosphere is a mix of Blade Runner and Dune. If you like sci-fi like that, then you might get drawn into the compelling story and find out what the mystery is all about. The first part of the game has a lot of basic errand tasks to complete, which verges on tedious but which ultimately does lead somewhere if you stick with it. Feels like the work of a small but passionate team, with a tight budget. That said it's really cool to the result and understand what's possible.. This game is awesome, all the characters look unique and the history is very interesting.. This is a great game with simpe graphics. Love the plot where you play for an android and can act outside of cliche box of "evil A.I.". Needs a dash button since your character walks painfully slow, but that aside, it's pretty good. I did feel like I was taking on the role of an android and it was pretty well written too.I like how choices matter in this game and affect the outcome. I'll have to play it through again sometime and get a different ending.. Simply amazing! This game stays true to its title and to sci-fi fans (has quality 3D models of tech, people and wildlife!)A gem crafted with love and with an interesting story. I rooted for the droid until the end.(check out all of the endings, it's worth it). I haven't touched a Pilgram Adventures game since The Deed right after it's release. So almost 3 years ago, but I got to say, I need to play more of their games. And this one right here is an absoloutely amazing game. It only takes around 4 hours to complete and is extremely cheap. So definitely it's worth the price. It's story does suffer from some issues but the slow start functions more as a positive than a negative and the twists and turns definitely make up for it. Even if the mystery was a bit cheap. Simply put, if you're up for a short and emotional romp you should pay more of PA's games.. Pros: *Custom Graphics for an RPG Maker Game*Well thought out plot that flows*Not your average looking RPG maker game you see on steamCons:*Voice acting maybe? (though im okay with texts)*IMPORTANT Dash button! our character walks like an old lady.7/10. This game is really annoying. You can't pickup anything unless you have an objective to pick it up and you cant just hit escape to exit a dialog, you have to select "cancel" from the menu and nobody has time for that. Lame.. Good point and click.. choices matter which was suprising. I loved how the choices determined the game. It was an RPG game that was 'adult themed' which I loved. Adult characters and storyline - it was a lot of fun. The Future of Pilgrim Adventures: With the release of Space Pilgrim Academy: Reunion last weekend, I wanted to give all of you folks an update on what's happening with this series and the future of Pilgrim Adventures in general.Although Reunion is the concluding chapter of what can be referred to as the Latona story arc, focusing on Maggie's search for her mother, you'll probably get the sense that there's still more story left to tell. There's been some discussion and speculation on the forums about how many years there are at the Pilgrim Space Academy, and the answer is that there are six. This means Maggie and her fellow cadets are only halfway through their time at the academy. So, the intention is to create a second story arc which would cover years 4 through 6 and possibly beyond. However ... this won't happen immediately.I've been almost exclusively working on the Academy games for nearly two years now, and during that time I've had ideas for various other interesting projects which have had to remain on the shelf. The first of these is already in development and should be arriving relatively soon. Also, the opportunity for the first collaboration between Pilgrim Adventures and another game developer has recently presented itself, which is very exciting! So, the plan is to take a some time to work on these other projects, and then to return to the Academy series at some point in the future. Before making any further Academy adventures, I would also like to do a major update to the existing games in the series with enhanced graphics, more varied facial expressions for the lead characters, and some improvements to gameplay.Obviously the success and popularity of the Academy series will affect the decision of when to start work on the new chapters, so if you'd like to expedite their arrival, the best thing you could do would be to leave Steam reviews on the previous games if you haven't already - particularly Year 1. You could also help out by recommending the series to your friends, foes, followers, dependants, colleagues and minions. It would be very much appreciated! Finally, I'd also like to mention that in addition to the Steam developer page, we've also newly created accounts on Twitter and Facebook[www.facebook.com] to make it easier for you to follow what's going on! The website[www.pilgrimadventures.com] is also being updated.. Coming Summer 2019: "A Sceptic's Guide to Magic": https://store.steampowered.com/app/1074520/A_Sceptics_Guide_to_Magic/. Version 1.2: Fixed a mouse bug in Finch's droid recovery mission. Fixed two path-finding bugs, one with Ketty in headquarters and one with the jeep later in the game. Fixed a small glitch in the "Engineering" mission. Fixed a late game bug involving Jonah. The third-party plugin we were using to enable Steam achievements was causing instability issues for some Windows 10 users and false positives in some antivirus programs, so we've rolled it back to an earlier, more stable version. If you continue to experience problems related to achievements, such as a 'type undefined' error that can occur at points when achievements should unlock, there is also an offline version of the game:- Right click on the game in your Steam library list and select 'Properties'- Select the 'Betas' tab and choose 'Offline - no achievements' from the drop-down menu. Try restarting your Steam client if this option doesn't appear for you.- There will be a short update. If it worked, the words 'No Achievements' should appear in the top right corner of the title screen when you launch the game. This version of the game should be fully functional apart from missing achievements. Trading cards will still drop as normal.. 80% off For Limited Time: Sentience: The Android's Tale is 80% off for limited time..
